January Youth Board Minutes
Jan 20^th. 5:00pm

Attendees: Pastor Williamson, Lisa Jackson, Niles Eastman, Ryan Simpson, Emily Bergman, Terry Young, Jessica Baids and Missy Patnaude

Mexico Trip Update:
Fund raising continues to go well. We have raised $886 from chocolate sales, M & M tubes and other donations. Future fundraising include the Easter Breakfast in March, Servant Days in April and Banquet Tickets to be sold in May.

Connections: Discussion for Connections, and options for activity/teaching ideas: youth spoke about making their own Nooma, to mimic the Rob Bell curriculum we have been using. They also spoke about Sex God, the Rob Bell book on God and our relationships. Youth also asked for more interaction with ROOTS, especially over the next couple of months. That would help ensure relationships would develop with next group that will “graduate” from Roots and will enter Connections next year. Pastor Williamson will notify youth of dates in March where Connections youth will teach the ROOTs class. He will also work with Cara to identify opportunities for Connections and Roots to do projects together. Emily Bergman asked if we could do service projects around DARFUR. We will continue to look at options for service around that, with Emily’s help.

Other topics: We began to look at dates for the Lock-in. Last day of classes is May 11^th, so a date suggested is May 10^th, with breakfast on the 11^th before church.

The group of kids going on the Mexico trip will be hosting the soup supper on March 5^th.

We also looked at the option of Connections planning a Sunday morning liturgy or having a guest-preaching opportunity.
