Worship at Saint Paul

We use a combination of settings and hymns from the Evangelical Lutheran Worship, from With One Voice, from Now the Feast and Celebration and settings composed by our Music Director. Recently we have added Caribbean and Blues settings on occasional Sundays. Several times during the year we have healing services.  Besides our two pastors in the chancel we also have assisting lay ministers who write the prayers of the people and assist with the Eucharist.  Other lay ministries include the deacons who also assist with the Eucharist, which is offered at every service, and the  two acolytes and the crucifer who process with the pastors, the assisting minister and the deacon. The acolytes help with Communion and light the altar candles before the service starts. Other lay ministries include those who serve as lectors, as ushers and greeters, as providers of the bread we use for communion and as welcome center hosts. Another important ministries is accomplished by the Altar Care people.  They are not in the chancel on Sunday morning during the service but without them we could not have a praiseful worship service.

Because we use a variety of liturgies, many of us respond more to one kind than another.  But we support each other, give to each other what feeds our souls; and we participate together each Sunday.

While we encourage children to be in the worship service, there is a nursery, staffed with a permanent adult and volunteer helpers, available during worship services and during the education hour.
