Witness & Nurture Boards

Witness Board

Through the Witness Board, St. Paul reaches out into the community and the world in witness to Christ’s love by supporting many projects with the physical and/or financial help.

At St. Paul Lutheran Church we believe it is important to share our gifts with others. Therefore, we contribute 20% of our offerings to others. A major part of this is sent to the ELCA for church wide projects throughout the world. The remainder is shared with several local organizations.

The Witness Board helps determine the organizations that we will contribute to each year. Not only do members of St. Paul contribute their money, but many members contribute their time to these various benevolence projects.  The Witness board is also responsible for evangelical projects such as the New Members class and Friendship Sunday.

Please see the Outreach Ministries page for a list the ministries beyond our congregation that St. Paul supports.

Nurture Board

Are you the caring kind?  If so, we have a committee for you.

The goal of the Nurture committee is to foster feelings of fellowship and community within the St. Paul congregation.  We sponsor events like:

  • International potlucks

  • The Advent Event

  • Cougars’ baseball games

  • Groups such as the Labor of Love quilters

  • Mom’s Group

  • and the Church Ladies.

Where can you see the full theological impact of movies like “Bruce Almighty” and “Amelie”?  At events we sponsor, that’s where.  We bring members together to have fun and build relationships in ways that point to the inclusiveness of Christ.

We also sponsor “Caring Ministries” to nurture the bodies and souls of our members, with events such as:

  • Monthly blood pressure checks

  • Homebound communion and

  • “Helping Hands” (cards to reach those experiencing crises)

We meet the 1st Thursday of each month at 7pm and welcome

anyone interested in joining or visiting the board.

“Come for a day, or come for a year.”
