Council Meeting Minutes
January 18, 2005
Craig Ellinghausen opened the Council Meeting at 6:15 p.m.
Excused: Kevin Dixon, late; Craig Dickson, absent
Late: Mark Disbrow
Pr. Hooper read from First Corinthians.
Operations
- Bob Miller reported a $20,000 increase in pledges after the appeal for additional funds at last Sundays services. The difference between the expected income in 2005 and the budget is $51,528.
- The Council reviewed the budget and cut expenses in an attempt to erase the deficit.
- Craig Ellinghausen moved to move $2000 dues for DuPage United into the benevolence portion of the budget. Ron Diener seconded and the motion passed.
- Ron Diener moved to accept a deficit budget of $535,348 with the deficit at $24,780 and present the budget to the Congregation with a vision to grow the ministry. Craig Ellinghausen seconded and the motion did not pass.
- Ginny Harms moved to reverse the decision to fund twelve new parking places, paint rusted areas of the exterior and paint and repair the walls in the stairwell. Pr. Eastman seconded and the motion passed.
- Heidi Carr moved to paint and repair the walls in the stairwell, and paint the rusted areas of the exterior for up to the amount of $7,000. Mark Disbrow seconded and the motion passed.
- Ron Diener moved to present a deficit budget to the congregation with a focus for the congregation on growth giving. Pr. Hooper seconded and the motion passed.
- Bob Miller moved that we submit the 2005 budget for the Building on Blessings program to the congregation with a total yearly income of $51,698, mortgage payments of $65,188 and a $12,500 deficit for the year. Ron Diener seconded and the motion passed.
Ginny Harms moved to adjourn and Ron Diener seconded. Meeting adjourned 10:22p.m.
