Yes! Confirmation Ministry is a classic Lutheran educational and disciple-making ministry that helps youth identify more deeply with the Christian community and participate more fully in its mission. At St. Paul, youth confirmation ministry extends from sixth grade through the midpoint of ninth grade, and is composed of three key elements: ROOTS Sunday School for 6th-8th graders, Living Waters Confirmation Camp at Lutherdale Ministries in Elkhorn, WI (at least one summer following 6th, 7th, or 8th Grade), and a 13-week mentoring program called Making Disciples (fall of 9th grade). In addition to receiving a solid grounding in the Old and New Testaments and Martin Luther’s Small Catechism, confirmation youth develop lasting relationships with peers and Christian adults, engage in service projects for their church and community, and try their hand assisting in various roles in worship.
In partnership with parents and family, St. Paul Church is committed to helping guide, direct, teach, lead, share, and encourage young people in their faith journeys. At the conclusion of this intentional period of faith formation, youth are given the opportunity to Affirm their Baptism on the festival day of the Baptism of Our Lord (1st Sunday after Epiphany).
