Pr. Williamson opened the meeting with a devotion on Psalm 1.

Pr. Eastman gave an update on The Lutheran Course she is leading on Thursday evenings. 31 people are signed up for the class – these are divided into 6 small groups. Continuing with a” Lutheran Course II” in the spring is being considered.

Heidi reported that Pat Pape will be starting another session of” Be Angry But Do Not Sin” beginning in February. So far, the Wednesday morning class has people signed up, but not many have signed up for the Thursday evening time slot yet.

Bob Hein brought a draft of the Council’s Continuing Resolution for Ed Bd to review. We made some editorial changes (minor wording changes) and Bob will submit those changes to Council. Bob then briefed the Ed Bd on highlights of the last Council meeting.

Pastor Williamson will be starting a new Men’s Group on February 16. The group will meet Saturday mornings from 7:00 – 8:15 am in the Youth Room. This group will meet every other week and will start off using a dvd curriculum entitled “Living the Questions.” A sign up sheet will be posted in the narthex. Verbal announcements of the class, as well as articles in the ACTS and worship bulletins, will be used to advertise the new group.

Pastor Williamson reported that the Making Disciples program was quite successful, with positive feedback from students, mentors, parents, and congregation.

Cherie Schumm discussed the possibility of organizing a “small group” for moms of Sunday School children. She has previewed one dvd curriculum entitled “Parenting – The Early Years” which includes a bible study of biblical traits parents want their children to remember. General discussion ensued about the logistics of offering/ organizing small groups – with an agreement to discuss further at our next meeting. In the meantime, Cherie will talk to parents about what type of bible study/small group there may be interest in.
