The church library has a new location along the south wall of the choir room.

Thanks to support and help from the Church Council and Ed Board, new shelves have been installed and books have been re-catalogued, using the Dewey Decimal System.

Teresa Keys and Ellen Noth are the church librarians.

The Purpose and Policy of the Church Library

The purpose of the church library is to provide resources for families and individuals to aid in developing and strengthening faith. These subjects include, but are not limited to:

  • Spiritual growth
  • The foundation and theology of the Lutheran faith
  • Biblical literacy
  • Theology of other Christian denominations and world religions, with an idea toward understanding and acceptance
  • The relationship between religion and science.
  • Social and political issues and the Christian response to human needs
  • Coping with the difficulties of life, such as illness, death, divorce
  • Understanding and acceptance of persons who are or have been discriminated against or marginalized by society

Priorities for purchase and acceptance of donations will emphasize the areas listed above. The library will include resources for children, youth, and adults. The library has limited space, so from time to time, older materials which are deemed no longer useful, may be removed and given away.
